Anybody who wanders around the world saying, "Hell yes, I'm from Texas," deserves whatever happens to him. And he had, after all, come here once again to make a nineteenth-century ass of himself in the midst of some jaded, atavistic freakout with nothing to recommend it except a very saleable "tradition."
i happened to run into a bit of luck this morning when my usual routine turned me to this:
today just happens to be boring, i almost feel as though i should take the time to write a long winded post about coming of age and recent realizations, a classic affirmation of growth and maturity. "A gross physical salute to the fantastic possibilities of life in this country. But only for those with true grit. " Unfortunatly, nothing comes to mind, save, that i just bought "It's a mad mad mad mad world" on dvd, and spent free moments of the past few days analyzing jurassic park and TMNT 1 on VHS.
One of the key genetic rules in breeding dogs, horses or any other kind of thoroughbred is that close inbreeding tends to magnify the weak points in a bloodline as well as the strong points. In horse breeding, for instance, there is a definite risk in breeding two fast horses who are both a little crazy. The offspring will likely be very fast and also very crazy. So the trick in breeding thoroughbreds is to retain the good traits and filter out the bad. But the breeding of humans is not so wisely supervised, particularly in a narrow Southern society where the closest kind of inbreeding is not only stylish and acceptable, but far more convenient--to the parents--than setting their offspring free to find their own mates, for their own reasons and in their own ways. |

| | islands - abominable snow | ] | Im excited that antother Hunter S. Thompson movie is in production. I'm not quite sure how good it is going to be either, it's more of a love story... or love triangle story. Although Thompson was only 22 when he wrote the story, it deals extensively with a fear of “going over the hill” and growing old. The prominent characters are typical of Thompson's work, violent, maniacal and alcoholic, stumbling through life. It is written in a highly paced and rather exciting style, also typical of his work. The Rum Diary stars johnny depp so theres the first indication it must be good. i only hope that benicio del torro signs on to play his attorney in the supporting role.
We bought "where the buffalo roam", a 1980's version of fear and loathing starring bill murray. i thought it sucked in comparison to the latter but it was good as far as indepth thought and typical hunter thompson humor/gonzo style.
I wish they would make a movie out of Fear and Loathing from the Campaign Trail 72'.
on an unrelated topic i love entourage... never seen an episode, i dont know the characters, storyline, or anything. but i still love it. thank you adrian grenier. |

So today it was incredibly slow at work so evelyn and I got to thinking about what butterbeer would taste like and took it upon ourselves to try and make. needless to say we created something that was, in our minds, what butterbeer would taste like, so its fucking awesome come by check it out. its a weird fiery concotion sent from the bowels of hell, mixed with the sinew and morrow of the dead.... actually the real ingredients would flip you out but im not joking we pulled it off. its really good none the less. |

| Yesterday was the greatest day |
[Mar. 5th, 2005|01:39 am] |
Tomorrow(today) is worse, I know. Actually it wasnt bad, 2nd annual baby dick fest was a bad ass good old nw rock show, too bad everyone showed up after the golden age played.
the jinx is.....alright..... fabian shared some exciting and interesting news with me, we had a nice chat.
actually i didnt go, i really went to the hillary duff concert, she did a cover of counter attack... needless to say it was bad ass. icing on a cake.
after the show, i went down to shoreline and rode my bike at 1 in the morning. too many bad memories there, sometimes i can avoid them, tonight i couldnt. even with everything new thats going on in my life, even with the help of good music, good friends, a great girl, a good show that filled me with love and hope, I was still able to depress myself. depress the fuck out of myself and lose that hope. I'm just about ready to give up. |

| one but never again... |
[Mar. 3rd, 2005|05:53 pm] |
today is the greatest day i've ever know.
I fixed my old S&M up and took it out for a spin. I had to take off the breaks and salvage what was left but it was still rideable. I ate it... twice. once at 5 points just riding along and once on a jump... i flipped over the handle bars, some old people saw and laughed so i flipped them off, fuck you. but it was fun just feeling the sting of the handle bar jab into my stomache as i landed on it. oh how i missed the ache of the pain, the sting of my cuts and bruises, my joints hurt from the first time ive used them in a long time. I think Kristin Armstrong saw me flip over my handle bars, or should have, how embarassing. I'm giving my lungs a rest, my wounds some tending, my tires some air and then im out again. I need to get breaks and get use to the bike, it feels alot more lighter, and smaller since the last time I rode it so I cant wait to hit the streets again. I'm just afraid I'm going to break my Dellpod(like an ipod but dells version, it was free).
Before BMX I love Calvin and Hobbes, best cartoon ever... bar none. so to all the calvin and hobbes fans I give you EVERY CALVIN AND HOBBES CARTOON EVER! (hard to find online) until now.
